Very slow download during installation

I’ve come back to RebornOS after a long time away. I’ve downloaded the latest ISO. I’ve left the installer to sort the mirrors. The installation of Plasma KDE takes over 10 hours!! I have a fairly recent PC and I have a 100mb fibre Internet connection. I’m in Northern Thailand.

The last time I installed Reborn was about 2 years ago. It took about 4 hours to download Plasma on a much slower Internet connection in Saudi Arabia!

Is there anything I can I do to shorten the installation time for RebornOS/Plasma?

Perhaps you can refresh mirrors using the “Refresh Mirrors” tool, then run

sudo cnchi-start-2.sh

(Please note that it is cnchi-start-2) and tell Cnchi to leave mirrors as they are when it asks you.

As I usually notify, we’re still configuring and testing a Calamares based installer which supports parallel downloads and will significantly speed up installation.
