Hi!
There is still a problem with updates to the installer package. Sadly. How do I fix this eternal update?
The system has cool things for beginners who are used to clicking on an app in the store, finding out information and deciding on installation, but there are applications that a beginner cannot install. For example, installing the 1c system is for those who understand exactly. But this system has a cloud version available in a web browser. Is it possible to create a web application on the go in RebornOS as in windows?
In windows, we use the server name to connect via RDP, I looked at several applications for RDP and did not find such an opportunity. Is it possible not to configure static addresses and not to remember them for using RDP?
Wow! I also have a question about appimage. Is the utility in Reborn OS to install the app from the app image as native?
For example, I was unable to connect Buttercup to the browser plugin in KDE NEON due to the fact that the application was running in portable mode.
Thanks for the reply. 1c is an accounting program. I’m more interested in whether it’s possible to create a web app. Using this in the emulator is not entirely logical to leave slow windows.
Remmina definitely didn’t want to connect by name. For example, it was not possible to connect to the my-server address, but it turned out to be 169.1.1.28.
And applications like teamviewer, anydesk and others break the multi-user use of “cryptopro” encryption keys.
That is, the idea of getting a system is not for programmers, but for housewives, but who keep accounting on an encrypted server.
Giving up everything and spending a few weeks figuring out and configuring the system is not my way
That’s not exactly what I mean. There is 1c in the cloud, you can connect to it with a thin client or use a web app. Since there is always a new version in the cloud, an official thin client that receives timely updates is suitable for continuous operation, and not a third-party application that is lagging behind by several updates. This is natural, since the thin client is updated 1-2 times a week.
Simply put, Linux remains inaccessible to most users due to the need to read logs, memorize numbers and use the console. This is probably interesting for those who like and want to understand all this, and not just use the device.
Exclusively from this branch. Webapp is not available, RDP requires knowledge of the IP address, attempts to launch the 1c thin client after installation were unsuccessful, and the devil knows what he lacks. The favorite password manager is released as appimage and it is unclear whether communication with browser plugins will work after “implementation”.
My experience is this, I tried to install RebornOS, it hung up when updating. I installed KDE Neon, the applications I need do not work on it, or they work with crutches in the form of wine, dokker, etc. They explained how to install RebornOS, it is more interesting out of the box, but it did not work out to launch the necessary applications. Let’s think, it takes 5-10 minutes to buy RAM and SSD, read documentation, logs, figure out why applications don’t start and don’t work - these are days and weeks.
See my thread about the installer and take @shivanandvp’s advice and click on advance and disable updating the installer. As for not ready for prime time not true any more. Threre are way too many distros out there now that the average user can just install and go. As easy to set up as any Windows or Mac OS. Now a days one doesn’t have to do anything via the terminal if that’s what they want. but that said updates do tend to work better from the terminal and there are various things that are faster to preform from the terminal than their GUI. As for web apps yes there is a app just for that. Just do some searching. Reborn is a great distro but like any distro they cannot provide everything. I currently have Garuda and Reborn and am very happy with both.
Thanks, @shivanandvp helped me figure out the installation. But I now have a working W11 and Reborn OS with bungie, in which I have been trying for several hours to configure the interface so that all the tray icons are the same size and the clock does not look like a foreign sticker.
