Locking down ALL System Settings

I have been back and fourth on the KDE forums try to get out of them how to lockdown System Settings so they have to be unlocked to do any changes, and I never get a straight answer. I have a partner that’s 73 and has cognitive issues that pretty much limit his ability to use a computer to web browsing and checking his email, but he still believe he can change thing and know what he’s doing. That is not the case and I end up fixing things a lot when he breaks them. I would simply roll back the system, but there are a lot of settings that Snapper does not revert. Any legitimate suggestions on locking down Plasma’s System Settings would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I missed your post. Changing permissions to the config files may cause problems. You may try a more shallow approach of requiring superuser access to launch the settings app. You might need to edit the .desktop file for the settings application. I will lookup what it is named as, if you are interested in doing this.

Yeah any thing that I can do to stop his access to System Settings is very welcome. I already got a command for stopping him from editing the panels and desktop.
