Display resolution selection does not comply with actual resolution being set

After the installation, I have a 4k-monitor, but I usually operate it
at 1980x1080 @60Hz
But when I select this mode, the real mode being set is:
1980x2160.
The session is in X11 mode. I think the selection list and
values behind do not match in the monitor settings (KDE-plasma) ?

• Do you have kscreen installed? Install it if you don’t have it.
• If you have the file ~/.local/share/kscreen/, you can remove the file and reboot.

I do have kscreen installed already,

now I removed the folder kscreen, and about to reboot …

still the same situation

What is the natural screen resolution of your screen and what are the screen resolutions available to you in the settings? In the past did you have more options?

in the past the choice of this resolution did work out. ( 1920x1080@60Hz )
The previous install was OK with that, now I choose this mode, the screen
OSD ( monitor itself ) says 1980x2160.

1920x1080@50 Hz works as expected, but I would like to have 60Hz like before

this is the content of kscreen if I choose 1980x1080 60Hz

Perhaps it is a KDE bug  . Let me lookup

Do you have any fractional scaling enabled?

maybe it seems I have a first resolve.
I changed

 "refresh": 60.007755279541016,

to

 "refresh": 60

and did a relogin, now the system settings manager for display correctly shows 60Hz with 1920x1080,
so I hope this could be permanent … going for a restart …

–no scaling at all__-

the resolution stayed at the correct setting of 1920x1080@60Hz even after restart
I would gingerly mark this thread as resolved for now …
your hint at kscreen was very helpful, many thanks for that also

update: after a few updates this problem returns !!

Is the setting still at 60?

folder and file names have changed, now I had to delete multiple files just to watch a new one
beeing created, apprntly there is a file for each resolution. But the resolution entry I desired was not there. In the new file I changed the resolution, 60 was already correct, rebooted and had the desired look.

The monitor connected is actually a UHD - TV. Television cable is not connected and Android functionality is not initialized, because I do not wantbto know what media wants me to hear or see, and dont want to have an other Android device spying on me

I am kind of lost here. If @CookieSource is stumped too, then perhaps one could post on KDE Forums

when you say like before, what is the size of said TV? and is this the same TV that was used? certain sizes are only capable of certain resolutions at 30 to 165hz, you could be going over the ratio and thats why the hz is lowering.

for example 20-24inch tv is 1080x1980p at 60hz, 1980x2160p at 60hz would be the 40" tv mark

actually, it can display 60Hz @ 3200x1800

I guess I going to do this, if it comes up again !
