Chromium browser not booting

Hi,
Not sure why this is happening but after installing chromium I try to run it and I get the error below:

/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: error while loading shared libraries: libre2.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @Mangled . Could you check if the package re2 is installed?

pacman -Q re2

If it is not, install it:

sudo pacman -S re2

I also found this: Arch Linux ARM • View topic - libre2.so.10 breaks Chromium-115

just tried that and it appears i do have it installed.

re2 1:20230801-1

Must be the bug link I shared above, then. Does Firefox work?

firefox works but it freezes constantly. I have to install other browsers such as vivaldi which works great however I cannot get widevine to work on it

For Firefox, uninstall xdg-desktop-portal-gnome or xdg-desktop-portal-gtk if you have them

I had that issue when firefox would take a very long time to boot. However it did not fix the freezing issue. I dont have neither one of those packages installed. It may be something to do with the arm chipset not being supported?

I don’t have an ARM GNU/Linux device. @Pandaa may know.

latest update had resolved this. Chromium now boots fine.
