I’m running KDE plasma on Reborn. After I did the normal updates using pamac yesterday I can’t access my network shares. I’m using Dolphin to connect to the shares. Dolphin keeps asking for the password, when I enter the correct password it does not accept it. I’m using smb to connect to the shares. Before the update yesterday I could access the shares. Does anybody know what’s going on?
In Arch Linux errors have been reported in local names resolution.
At the moment what I can say is that an update is about to come out for samba (which goes from version 4.14.0-1 to 4.14.0-2), and smbclient (with the same version changes).
You can see a report of a similar bug in GNMOE here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=264500
In the last post, the user indicates the following:
“It seems related to local names resolution. If I do gio mount nfs://lenovo.local:/home/egidio/transmission I get the same error as above, while with gio mount nfs://192.168.1.204:/home/egidio/transmission it works.”
We are sorry for the problems that have been caused to you. In this case we must wait for Arch Linux to make its corrections.
Have a good day!
